ASSISTANT ENGINEER

 


 
The Assistant Engineer is under the general direction of the Water Operations Manager to plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate engineering functions and activities within the Water Operations Department.  The Assistant Engineer shall assist in planning, directing, supervising and coordinating complex civil engineering/surveying work in the feasibility, design, contracting, construction, inspection, and maintenance of the Districtís irrigation, domestic and related water facilities.  The Assistant Engineer shall serve as a technical specialist in the fields of water management, measurement, supply, automation, water quality, drainage, and storm water management for the District.

 

Required:  A Bachelor's Degree with major course work in civil or agricultural engineering with an emphasis on soil and water engineering; possession of a valid and current Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT) issued by the State of California.

 

Experience:  Recent college graduate and/or up to two (2) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience in the design and construction of irrigation, drainage, reclamation, and flood control facilities.

ACCOUNT CLERK 

 

Under direction of the CFO primarily performing accounts payable and accounts receivable duties; in addition to performing complex and responsible accounting and clerical duties required in the maintenance of financial and statistical records.  This position will assist the public with inquires, answer telephones, perform word processing, copying, research and other general clerical work.

 

Experience:  Five (5) years of increasingly responsible accounting/bookkeeping experience and at least two (2) years experience in general bookkeeping, preferably for a public agency.

 

Education:  Completion of a twelfth grade level of education or equivalent with successful and demonstrated completion of advanced business, math, and bookkeeping courses.

WATER UTILITIES SERVICEMAN

 

Under general supervision of the Water Operations Manager to work alone or  participate in the work of a crew engaged in the Districtís agricultural deep wells, agricultural water, SCADA and water utility systems operations, service maintenance, repair and construction.

 

Necessary Requirements:  Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Water Treatment Certificate issued by the State of California within one year of hire; and possession of, or ability to obtain, a certificate issued by the American Water Works Association for Backflow Prevention Assembly testing within one year of hire.  Possession of a California Driverís License.

 

Experience:  Electrical experience and its application to single and three phase electrical services, some pump repair, pump maintenance experience.  Fundamental welding experience.

 

Education:  Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write in English; and perform mathematical computations at the level required for successful job performance.
