The Oakdale Irrigation District is currently accepting applications for following positions: 


Oakdale Irrigation District is Hiring!  We are looking for a General Manager to manage a highly functional District with outstanding support staff to address and advance critical resource management programs, perform the function of Chief Executive Officer in supervising day-to day activities with particular emphasis on providing oversight of irrigation and water utility operations, personnel, fiscal control and safe guarding District assets. 

Salary is commensurate with experience + comprehensive benefits package.  The position will report directly to the Board of Directors.

Ideal Candidate:         

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in the organization and management of a public entity, California Water Law, Government Code, Environmental Law, Public Records Act, Employment Law, Contract Law and California water rights related to both pre-1914 and post-1914 rights and storage.  The person selected must understand the political processes at the federal, state and local agencies, and with landowners and local community organizations.  The candidate must have the proven ability to develop and maintain active relationships with local, state and federal agencies and elected policy makers as well as the private industry to secure the Districts interests; delegate major responsibilities and establish accountability for achieving results; communicate effectively, orally and in writing with the Board of Directors and all levels of employees; and develop, foster and maintain cooperative working relationships between all District employees.


A minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in a high-level administrative position.


Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in engineering, construction, public administration, business administration, economics, industrial relations, government or related fields.  Additional qualifying experience and/or education in other professional disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
